Hino Motors has developed a system that automatically shuts down the bus when it detects an anomaly in the driver on a highway, so that it can be used as a commercial vehicle. It will be installed for the first time.
There are many traffic accidents in the country caused by the sudden loss of consciousness of the driver when driving.
For this reason, Hino Motors will be equipped with a function that automatically stops the bus when it detects an anomaly in the driver on a highway, in the new large bus that will be launched next month.
The system uses an infrared camera to monitor the driver’s body for falls or blindness. In addition, the bus will automatically stop if the camera taking the picture in front is used to exit the driving lane. When the bus begins to decelerate, the brake light flashes and a horn also sounds to notify the surrounding area.
According to the company, it is the first in the world to incorporate these features in commercial vehicles such as buses.
Mr. Hirokazu Okuyama of Hino Motors, who announced it, said: “The buses and large trucks that many people travel in will cause great damage once an accident occurs.
